Can Iowa Farm Bureau Insure Out-of-State Residents?
Farm Bureau in Iowa is telling me they probably can't insure me because I don't "live in Iowa" but it is my legal state of residence where I vote, have my license, and register my car.
I am in AIT in a different state right now and wanting to buy a car that I've picked out in Iowa. I do not know where I will have a duty station after March. But because I don't live full time in Iowa, because I'm active duty Army, Farm Bureau is telling me she can't even give me a quote because I have to get insurance from whatever state I'm in. Is that true? So if I keep moving duty stations, I have to keep getting new insurance in each state? Just needing a little guidance. At this point, I'm probably not going with Farm Bureau, but I'd really like to know if this agent is right. She refused to call the underwriter so I could hear it from them.

I would recommend calling other companies and seeing if you can get insured. Worse case you'll need to get insurance using your temporary place of residence.
