Homeowners can do this in a variety of ways. Reducing energy and electricity usage is often the simplest way to reduce carbon footprint. This can be done by limiting climate control (cooling your home less in the summer, heating it less in the winter), using more energy-efficient appliances and lighting and reinforcing windows to ensure that your home is heated or cooled more efficiently.
