Why liability-only insurance tends to be less expensive than full coverage?

Why is it that liability-only car insurance tends to be less expensive than full coverage, and could you perhaps elaborate on the specific factors contributing to the cost difference between these two types of insurance?

Liability-only insurance is less expensive than full coverage because the former only covers injuries or damages to third parties and their property, not to you or your property. Full coverage covers a lot more than liability-only insurance, including:

  1. damage to a third party's car after an accident,
  2. damage to your car after an accident,
  3. damage to your car by a natural disaster, such as a tornado and hurricane, and
  4. car theft.
